A Little Sunshine for the Winter Dark

"Little January
Tapped at my door today.
And said, "Put on your winter wraps,
And come outdoors to play."
Little January
Is always full of fun;
Until the set of sun.
Little January
Will stay a month with me
And we will have such jolly times -
Just come along and see."
-  Winifred C. Marshall, January

"In January
it's so nice
while slipping
on the sliding ice
to sip hot chicken soup with rice.
Sipping once
Sipping twice"
-  Maurice Sendak, In January

"You'd be so lean, that blast of January
Would blow you through and through.  Now, my fair'st friend,
I would I had some flowers o' the spring that might
Become your time of day."
-  William Shakespeare, The Winter's Tale, Act IV Scene 4

For many of us this is a winter day, cold and overcast, with a breeze that chills to the bone. I hope it is not the same where you are right now but if it is,  I offer the daisies and sunshine in hopes it will warm your day.

Wish we could swap places for a few days as we are in the grips of a heatwave expected to last a few more days yet. !00°F and more in the west.

Yellow is such a cheerful color. We had nothing but sunshine yesterday, and the golden light coming through the windows cheered me almost as much as these beautiful yellow flowers! :-)

Daisy and sunshine are welcomed here in NC. We awoke to heavy F O G
and it is soggy too.

Daisy and sunshine are welcome here too, in Canada, it's not as cold as one would expect for January, but I'm expecting a blast in the next few days. Must go out and clean the ice off the walkway, don't want anyone to slip away.

Daisies and sunshine are great to have in the heart since there is over a foot of snow on the ground and gray skies delivering more snow.
