Annie McBride leaned over the kitchen sink and glanced out the window of her cozy Cape Cod saltbox. An odd celery glow divided the dawn sky into streaky layers of green and gray. She shivered and rubbed her arms against the October cold.

Maggie smiled. "I'm glad you're not damaged."
"Oh, no, just relieved. I mean, look at me," she continued. "I couldn't even ask him for help with my flat tire. That isn't the kind of person I should be with. I'm klutzy and disorganized. I forget things. I grind up silverware in the garbage disposal or forget laundry in the washing machine."
Witch Woman
In two different centuries, four hundred years apart, the lives of Abigail March and her daughter, Maggie, play out along parallel lines, both women blessed and cursed by a selective birthright and marked with a startling mutation, heterochromia iridium, one brown eye, the other blue.In 1692 Abigail and three-year-old Maggie, are accused of witchcraft. Most women who found themselves facing the hangman’s noose during this shameful time are innocent. Abigail is not. Summoning her powers, she sends her child through a time portal into twentieth century Salem.

Although it sounds interesting, I find it difficult to get hooked on science fiction......I'm too practical and boring. I like true stories best.
What is a celery glow? I am so klutzy too, its a wonder I've survived! I'm a new follower, hop on over if you have the time:

I love sci-fi, and dollar books, so this one sounds like it's for me! How do you manage to read so much, Judy? I am still far behind...
I like the sound of this one...I need to pick a sci-fi book for one of my challenges. This looks like just the one....
Here's MY FRIDAY MEMES POST
this one sounds good, i like time travel books,i am trying to remember the name of my favorite time travel book, it was a knight that was jousting on his horse and he got flipped into the middle of new york on his horse. i loved it. if i could think of it i would get it and read it again.
i am reading Back of Beyond by c.J. Box and like it so far.
first sentence
the night before Cody Hoyt shot the county coroner he was driving without a purpose in his county ford expedition as he often did these days.it means more since i read the back of the book and Cody is the sheriff.
By just looking at the title I would never read it, but after reading p56 I'd consider it, looks good.
I look forward to your review.
I really need to get a kindle or an ipad. :)
Sounds like a great read!
Wow this sounds like a very intriguing story that Mom would enjoy. She is old school and still only reads books she can touch and smell. That is what she loves about books. We'll see if it is available in a touch feely version
Hugs Madi
