I saw these train cars parked on a sidetrack and thought they made interesting things in a row. For more please visit Pat's Things in a Row.
And of course you already know that Thursday means it's time for some questions. Visit Thursday Two Questions and join the fun.
A news story I saw earlier this evening was talking about rising gasoline prices and what to expect by summer. That usually means jet fuel and other fuels will rise in price also.
1) What is your preferred means of travel for out of town trips or vacations? Plane, train, auto, etc. ?
2) If the fuel prices rise too high will it change your vacation plans or curtail your around town driving?
Bonus question: Peanut butter, crunchy or smooth?

prefers plane...
we are wanderlusts so if we have the means (we do our best to have a separate savings for travel) regardless of the fuel cost we will try to travel once a year. :)
We usually travel by plane but sometimes do road trips. The price of petrol/gas is rediculous.
A nostalgic row of box cars...
I would love to go on a train to a vacation spot.
I'm already pinching my trips around town as gas hits nearly $4 dollars a gallon.
Excellent for in a row and black and white!! Good eye Ms. Judy
1. Within about 350 miles a car
2. Being retired vacation is every day. LOL But we'll probably stick to travel w/in NC this year.
Bonus:
Smooth
I like to fly if I need to travel any distance at all. And yes, the cost of travel does curtail my trips to places like Seattle, because it's not only expensive to drive there, but then doing something with the car once I arrive is expensive! Staying around my home and taking the bus is my favorite mode of travel.
Crunchy, of course! :-)
Hi SQ ~~ Good questions. :)
1. I'd much rather take the tube if it would go where we wanted it. For that matter, we don't even have one. So mostly we drive.
2. If gas prices go up much further we won't eat. After that we will run out of money being on fixed incomes. Meaning then we would have to stay home.
..
i like the see-thru cars. :)
Travel is by car or one of our trucks
the high gas prices has already caused my hubby to cancel fishing this summer's bass fishing tour with his partner
and it will limit the number of horse shows outside of my association that I usually attend
Crunchy
Always on the move.
Great shots.
Costas
Nice photo shot.
I prefer mean of traveling as an adult - no kids would be flights. With kids, I preferred the car, van. It is just so much nicer to have our own space.
The fuel has made us think twice about most of our travel plans. We don't want to go unless it really will do us good.
I'm a big ole scaredy CAThy, so you'll only find me traveling by car. No planes. No boats. By train would be fun, though. Did I mentioned that I was scared of planes & boats?
Gas prices & vacation plans? Well, we don't take annual vacations, but we do try our best to take several day trips to the mountains when the weather is nice. Although, we hate the price at the pump is going up again more than likely we won't change what we're doing as far as our day trips go. This gives us what we need to break away from the same old routine and refreshes us completely.
I love your pictures of the train. Thanks for playing with us!
I love your header, and these train cars almost look like a big fence, they are cool! I prefer riding in a car. Prices won't affect our vacation plans because we haven't had a vacation in 43 years. Smooth!!
Trains make excellent models for things in a row! I posted train shots this week as well, but I like your shots better!
Travel by car is my prefered way. I do like train travel though. I have never flown...ever!
I have a 60 mile commute each day to work. The high price is really going to hurt and put a dent in the paycheck!
Smooth!
LIke your black and white train shots. Our station here is now a part of Washington and Lee University so we have no trains running. I miss them...they were the way I go to and from Florida to Emory University in Georgia when I was in college. The berths were such fun. The medium of black and white really lends itself beautifully to your train shots. Sorry my post did not to up. Mr. Linky does not like me. Here is it if you want to see my quilts.

Have a great weekend coming up. Genie
I always drive wherever I go. I hate public transportation.
That is pretty cool!

I love this shot, especially in B/W. Very cool!
With the rising gas prices, our plans may change for when we leave AZ on 4/2. Every other year we drive up the west coast all the way to Washington State to visit my step-son and his family, then east to MN, then down to IL. We may just change our plans and head pretty much straight home to IL.
I only like traveling by car. I've been on a plane a few times, but don't care for it. When gas prices are high my Navigator is parked and we drive hubby's two door Toyota scion. BIG savings on gas! As far as vacations, the last one was last summer and we ended up driving the car to save on gas. :)
I love crunchy, but both are great as long as it's Peter Pan!
Love the train shot, the black n white is always a nice effect!
answers to questions:
1. always by car~ but dream of a cross country train trip someday!
2. It already has. No Vacation planned this year. going to keep it local.
Bonus: smooth and natural ;)
1. Certainly a plane.. have already traveled to Taiwan last month..am planning to go to Malaysia or other nearby countries maybe in June or December.
2. Even if fuel prices are high there is no difference in our vacation plans :)
1 I prefer vehicular travel. I feel safer on the ground despite the facts of travel safety with auto vs airplane :)
2. I don't go out much so I'm not sure I'd change that. Whenever I go somewhere I maximize drive time and fuel. If I go to school, then I just go to the store then too and etc etc.
Love the photo.
Happy weekend!
this is way cool, it looks like the box car has mirrors or windows on it. love the perspective
