Take a Seat

Walking downtown the other day I saw these chairs lined up in a row in front of an antique store. I was very tempted by the wicker one. Want to see more things in a row? Visit Pat's Things in a Row.

Thursday also means it's time for Thursday Two Question!
My questions for you today are about the upcoming holiday weekend. Labor Day Weekend is the last big fling of the summer for many. To some it means school is starting back, vacations are over and fall is coming.

1) For those in the US, do you have plans for Labor Day? If you are not in the US, do you have a similar holiday to mark summer's end?

2) How different are things around your house after the Labor Day Holiday (or the end of summer)?

Bonus question: I was raised in the deep South and it was always a no-no to wear white after Labor Day. Do you wear white after Labor Day?
(Me: Yes, I love winter whites)

1. Don't have any plans yet but will probably do something close to home.

2. Since it's just me in my home, no changes after labor day.

BTW LOVE the tiger lily header.

We had the same rule about wearing the white! Do we have plans for the Labor Day weekend? Well, I didn't even know it was coming up!! When is it? As to how things are different after summer is over, I have one bad word:DARK!!!

We have kind of Labour Day but it is first of May here in Finland.

1) We don't have any plans for labor day, but things have already been different around our house because the kids are back in school. We are more busy with new forms to fill out, supplies to find and purchase, the routines of packing lunch...so much fun!
I still wear white if the place is hot, like the Caribbean, but I am very contentious not to.

That picture of the lily close-up is really stunning!

No labour day here. We have one in May. I could never understand that white wearing thing. I like wearing white when I feel like it. ;-)

No plans and no changes...school has already begun here.

I love the material on those chairs. Great row.

LOVE the chairs, i would go for the wicker also.
bonus ? first. yes i wear white year round, but not when I was young and living in GA, we did not where white shoes after labor day.
here in Florida nothing much changes after labor day, we are in the hottest and highest chance of hurricanes until November. Sept 10th is the highest chance of hurricanes on the charts. my birthday is sept 5 and 3 hurricanes have hit where i was on the week of my BD so when my BD gets close as it is now, we watch the tropics reports.
other than that no plans and labor day is just another day down here.

1) I have no plan for Labor Day, except to get my son back in the rhythm of school hours.

2) It's more hustle and bustle in the morning time for us, lots of "hurry up...let go.." in our house.

I don't think I have many white shirts in my wardrobe!

I can see why you were tempted to buy that wicker chair!

My sister is planning an "end of the summer" bash on the weekend of Labor Day. Should be fun.

Also, when the weekend is over it means that we leave the area and head about 2 hours south of here to central IL for a few weeks before heading to AZ.

Hi. First time here...found you through Pat...

LOVE your lily picture header!!!!

You and I were kind of thinking alike on the things in a row.

1) JR Gman is coming for a visit. His birthday is always close, if not on, Labor Day (the irony was NOT lost on me. ;) )
We will celebrate with him and then he and gman will be golfing in a charity event locally. I am SO EXCITED to see JR!!!!

2) After Labor Day it is time to wash and UV protect the Mother Ship's roof and clean the Mother ship and get her ready for winter, then settle in for the big fall festival events around here...

I do wear white--ANYTIME! I'm a rebel that way! :)

Enjoyed your blog and questions...

1. Plans for Labor Day weekend will be for my husband & I to once again to have a week of together time. This will be very nice.

2. After Labor Day, we really get bogged down with schooling, enjoying autumn activities, and focus a lot on upcoming holidays. Time zips by!

I hope you’ll decide to check…

We always have a cookout with the family and friends.

I always do a whole house clean out after labor day and donate a bunch of stuff.

As far as white goes, I'm also in Florida, I wear it year round. I love white sweaters!

Love those chairs! They made for a nice things in a row!

I have to work Labor Day weekend. I'm a 4-H Program Manager and our county fair is Labor Day weekend!

After Labor Day I usually start thinking about all that needs to be done before fall really sets in.

I'm a rule breaker...lol. I wear white whenever I feel like it. =)

We will attend Kites over Lake Michigan....MANY, many kiters from all over will fly kites right on the beach. In the evening they let the Chinese lanterns go, it is so beautiful. We may have a birthday party to go to also.
Hmmm, after the holiday....we are empty nesters so no kiddos to worry about. I guess I will watch more TV in the evening (when it gets dark so early :-(). as for wearing white, I don't wear very much anyway....my capris and sandals will be packed away when it gets to cold for them.

1. Canadians celebrate Labour Day just like anyone else...the only difference is that we add a U to the word Labour...hehe

Usually we go on a family picnic and enjoy the last crazy hazy daze of summer!!

2. It's usually quieter as the kids return to school and more routine sets in the household.
