A Sip and A Bite

From our local Farmers' Market, a display of locally bottled apple cider in different flavors. With the sunlight filtering through the bottles they looked really nice all lined up in a row. Visit Pat's Things in a Row to see more.

By now you all know that Thursday means it time for Thursday Two Questions.
Now that we are in late summer the amount of produce at our farmers' market is beginning to change a little. There are still many summer favorites but pretty soon the new crop of apples and even pumpkins will begin to show up.

1) Do you have farmers' markets, or some place to get fresh local produce, in your area?

2) What fall fruit and/or vegetable are you looking forward to?
(Me: I love Honeycrisp apples)

Bonus question: Apples or oranges?

Stunning header, and I love the shining bottles! We have a big Farmers Market every Saturday morning in a city about twenty minutes away. I guess with fall coming I like the broccoli and cabbage, also the onions, they are never very good in the summer.

1) We have a couple of local farmers' market, but it is a long drive.

2) I'm looking forward to see pumpkins, and gourds. And of course, I like apples more than oranges, but apple cider is just divine.

Your header is so sunny and beautiful!

Love that header!!! The bottle photo is a blue ribbon winner.

We have no farmer's market. We grow our own and share with those who do not have a garden.

To be honest, I am not looking forward to any fall crops, ready for the garden season to be over. It's hard work.

We have a great Farmers' Market and I visit it almost every Saturday when it's open. Lots of organic veggies and fun stuff to buy.

I love the squash of all kinds and late summer tomatoes. Oh, and apples of course, being here in Washington state where we have the BEST!

The rows of flavored cider--pretty! I think I would have to try all of them! :)

1) We do have a farmer's market about 25 miles away. Never been. Always meant to.

2) Used to look forward to zucchini until we moved into the 5th wheel. I used to shred it and make chocolate chip zucchini cake. Yummers! I love pumpkins for decorating!

3) Apples--My friend Kathy makes the most devine apple cake! Wow!

That is such a cool shot! It's hard not to see EVERYTHING in a row, now, isn't it? Ha ha!

There is a farmer's market around here, I believe, but I've yet to go to it. I'd LIKE to, though. We just buy our produce at the local grocery stores.

i really love this photo---such gorgeous light!

there is a weekend organic farmer's market near my place that i visit once in a while. my mom prefers the fresh market that she goes to because she knows the vendors.

we have no autumn here and i can't think of a specific local fruit that is abundant around October. tropical fruits are much varied during the summer.

1. Ah, I love farmers markets. We have them all over SF but one huge one in downtown SF that has everything from Indian food to produce and more.

2. I like getting my apples, cantaloupe and bok choy there in addition to the Naan and samosas.

First glance, I thought those bottles were wine bottles. They look delicious. My daughter loves apple juice. :-)
I have a farmer's market in the area and only went once or twice. Their prices are much higher than that of the stores. It's hard to support them because there are super markets so close to where we live.
I am looking forward to eating the fuji apples off my tree. :-)

1. There are a few Farmer's Markets in town. I haven't been to one in a long time. This I hope to change soon, though.

2. One thing I would love to get this fall is fresh golden delicious apples. Buying apples in the grocery store are usually terrible like most fruit. That's what I want to do this fall.

I hope you’ll decide to check out…

1. There is a farmer's market close by and I do shop there.

2. In the fall and winter I look forward to sweet potatoes because sweet potato pie is my favorite and my grandma makes the best homemade sweet potato pie.

1.) Nope. At least not in this town, I'm not sure if there are any towns near here that have a Farmers' Market.

2.) Apples. Wish I had a more interesting answer.

Bonus: Apples. This might sound odd, but I'm REALLY bad at peeling oranges.

Oranges for my freshly squeezed juice!

Yes, we have a farmer's market...but it's only active in the early summer since by mid-July the produce is long past it's prime in gardens. We always have a long growing season, but the later in the summer [unlike most 'farms'] the growing season is waning.

And fall produce? Jonathan Apples!!!!!!

Good news and some MORE good news is my Friday post. Hope your weekend goes smoothly!!!
