Many of you are having very hot weather so I wanted to do my part to help cool you off. Some folks like their water calm and reflective and other prefer wet and wild. Take you pick and try to stay cool.
Ahhhhhhhhh!!!that was refreshing. Your header is goregous. Yesterday was the first day in a week it did not hit 100 or higher AND we had nearly 1" of rain between 3pm and dusk...whoopee!! However today all of our windows are covered in heavy heavy dew. Life in the South.
Hummingbird Pic: J I really think the Cedar is the key for me. 6PM seems to be their feeding time. In between their aerobatics they ALWAYS perch on the cedar. I keep my eye on them and start clicking. This little guy was preening and squeaking away. I love their squeak....even when they are angry at me for taking their feeder away to clean and refill. Hugs C
thanks for the splash in your header when your blog opened, i feel better already. that turtle shot is magnifico. i like the reflection of his head in the water and it has a mystical quality. great shot

Grew up in a small Georgia town with a desire to see some of the places I had read about and many I had not. I moved to Alaska and lived there for about ten years. My jobs took me to many parts of the state including Barrow, Nome, Kodiak Island and many more. I have also lived in California, Oregon and now Washington state.
Let this be the story of the journey so far.

Great turtle photo. They don't usually hang around long once they see people (in my experience).

About now...with the drought here in south Texas...I'll take ANY WATER!!!

Love that wet'n'wild, but I can never resist a photo of a turtle, and this one is wonderful, sitting on the submerged log, looking cool and happy.

Cute little turtle! Terrific capture of a watery reflection.
It was cloudy today, there was talk of rain, but then the clouds went and we are again in triple digit heat. So any watery images are very welcome!

WATER ON WEDNESDAY
Water on Wednesday
And other days too,
Water for me, friend,
And water for you;
Water as ocean
And water as sea,
Water for you, friend,
And water for me;
Every day water
In puddle or ice
Or snowflakes or mist—
Oh, water is nice!
