Spontaneous Planning?

For some reason my flowers aren't doing so well this year, some aren't coming up at all. I wonder why?

Thursday means it's time for Thursday Two-Questions.

Those of us here in the US have a three day holiday weekend coming up and many of you are planning vacations.

1) Planned or spontaneous? When planning a vacation do you like to have everything planned out or do you leave a few items to chance?

2) When packing for a vacation what three items would you never leave home without?

Bonus question: Mountains or ocean? What is your preference?

MOL Miss Sissi you are sitting down on the job for sure...BUT you are the prettiest garden art I've ever seen. Hugs Madi and keep up the good work.

Vacation:
1. We ALWAYS have a hotel room reserved. I'm really picky about where I sleep. LOL
2. I do not leave home w/o my makeup, several good books and magazines and I always have a bottle of water for the road.
3. We're fortunate to have easy access to both the mountains and the ocean here in NC. This year we are going to the ocean and the mountains...whoopee!
In my heart I'm a MOUNTAIN girl...
Hugs C

I am totally not a planner, but thankfully my husband is. We tackle so much on vacations, where it takes most people a week(kids or not!). He is so thorough, and I really appreciate that about him. =D Three items I would never leave home without: my cell, my wallet, and well...clothes(I'm known for overpacking!).

Cute pic! :))

Don't really do vacations, but I think spontaneous (if I was going to a place I already know)

Water, mobile, credit card

Ocean, but I live near both, so don't really need to go anywhere else lol

we have not had a vacation since we got Jake in may of 05, i have gone off without hubby twice in that time. we do not go because of the dogs AND because hubby hates leaving home and traveling.
before Jake we went to daytona beach 2 times a year and to GA to visit my parents before they died.
when i pack i pack everything in the house that i might possibly need, i can't name 3 items because i take all the what ifs in the house. i take warm clothes and cold clothes and any and everything we MIGHT need IF anything happens.

Sandra reminds me why we don't have any pets. We can travel easily, and I love the wild animals and birds I get to watch. They do fine without me.

I always plan my trips, but not to the last detail. Hubby does that, though. And I could not leave without my cell, toothbrush, and credit cards!

I can't figure out why those plants aren't doing well. Looks like you have excellent gardening help.

The only thing we plan is where we are going. We have a general idea of what we want to do, but no agenda and in no certain order.

Our vacation exists of generally a day trip. Been away once for 2 days. With all the critters we are never far from home.

I'd say your kitty does not have a green paw.
Part of the beauty of not working, is that we don't feel pressed to go somewhere just because it's a 3-day weekend. We almost always stay home, when most folks are on the road.
1. We do a mix of both. When it's not during the busy season, it's much easier to be spontaneous.

2. My good camera, my pocket camera and plenty of memory for both.

3. Mountains and oceans are my two favorite things, but I'll have to pick ocean if I must... Desert is right up there also.

I'm a planner for the big vacations..if it is a short 2 dayer, we wing it....I never not pack my camera....
and usually I'd pick ocean, but now I have been wanting to see mountains (the Rockies in particular) as I have never seen them in person. Love that kitty photo!

I love the picture! Well, prepare yourself to be shocked, everyone else is when I tell them this. In over 40 years of marriage, we have never taken a vacation!!! I never thought it was unusual, but apparently it is!

i usually plan my vacation--where to go and stay, but i keep the itinerary open and flexible. there are pleasant surprises when you don't plan to the last detail.:p

i never leave home without a camera, sunglasses and sunblock.:p

What a cute a kitty pose.
I am a planner. I like to know what I am about to do before I do it. I supposed sometimes I have surprises, but I wouldn't like a surprise vacation unless I am a multi million air.
I must go with my good coffee, phone, and laptop. Even if I don't use it.

I have only had one vacation in my life and it was camping at a church camp so my Bible was tops, soap and toothbrush?? It's hard to limit one self. lol Kitties are not very good gardeners, are they?

1 We usually plan our trip to a certain extent. Like the travel and where we'll stay etc and maybe one outing but everything else is done on spot.

2. Definitely passports, clothes and cellphones :) It's hard to pick 3.

Aloha!

1) If it is a vacation, I'd like to plan it ahead of time, or at least know where I'm going.

2) Three things I must have are: toothbrush, lotion, and camera! And make it at the ocean, please..

Wonderful photo, Judy!

I like both! Sometimes, we planned out, but sometimes, it was just spontaneous.

I would bring my eyeglasses, comfortable shoes, and money! Money can get me what I need if I ever need something.

Planned for the most part, but ideas for spontaneous side ventures.

My camera, laptop, and cosmetic bag - technology & beauty! Where would I be without these? =D
