It's Hot Tonight

It's Thursday and that means it time for ......... Thursday Two Questions.

The East Coast and Southern parts of the US among other places are having a heatwave, sweltering temperatures and dry conditions. Which leads us to my questions for this week.

1) Do you have any hints or tricks for staying cool in the summer heat?

2) Where is your favorite place to be in the summertime?

And a bonus question for you this week, do you like your iced tea sweetened or unsweetened?

I have one of those little tiny hand held battery run fans. I also will run my wrists under cold water. Sweetened tea! Love your colorful picture!

outside tasks are saved for early morning and after 7:00 p.m. if at all possible. the dogs and i take a nap during the hottest part of the afternoon. Unsweetened (then I add sweet and low...)

Love that gorgeous shot.

1. We really don't have seasons here so it only gets sweltering hot a few days out of the year. When it's too hot for me to handle (temperature wise) :D I'll stay indoors in the afternoon. I'll do all my errands etc... in the mornings.

i love your creative shot!

1) i stay cool by drinking lots of water and fruit shakes, wear comfortable clothes, take quick showers and let the water dry off.

2) anywhere that is cool...usually at the beach or the mountains. when it's too hot at home (cost of electricity is expensive here), i sometimes overstay at the mall. my dog loves it, too.:p

We don't have too much trouble with heat here, but my favorite place to be is by a pool--for the occasional quick dip!

Your shot is exquisite! I love to sit with my feet in cool water and a fan bouncing cool air off the wall.

I love tea - no sugar please.

It can get unbearably hot here in the desert part of the prairie (for some reason it isn't hot yet this year, though) so I just don't go outside. I'm ashamed to say I stay inside where there's air conditioning.
I like iced tea with or without sugar or sweetener. It's more refreshing on a hot day if it isn't sweet, I find.

1) I tie my hair up, it cools me down quite a bit. Drink ice cold water and wear very little clothing. I like the heat so 90 degrees to me is like having a blanket on, it's fine. 100 is too hot.
2)I like to be near the water if possible. Otherwise, I like to stay under the shade somewhere, or inside the house.
I don't drink tea, but looking at my cup board, I have a zillion different kinds of tea from gifts I don't know what to do with.
The photo is awesome, like everyone here already said: creative shot.

1) I splash water on my face often, cool my body down with a wet rag if I was in the middle of doing something, and drink ice cold water.

2) My favorite place to be in the summer is by the lake, or water somewhere. Unsweetened iced tea is perfect for summer.

Great questions today and quite timely.
1. I wear very light clothing NO PANTY HOSES after March in the South. I try to get all my outside chores done early.
2. I'd love to be in the beautiful NC mountains for the hottest part of the summer. We have a rule here we never take vacation to a place that is hotter than Raleigh. Why pay to go somewhere when you can be just a hot at home for free.
3. Oh my iced tea has to be sweet, with a twist of lime and lots of ice!!
Whoopee

Your photos are amazing!

I love the header, spent lots of time on OR coast!
Growing up in Savannah, I know all about the summer heat... can remember having no AC, ouch, I'm old!
Where in GA did you grow up?

Lots of water. Wear light-colored, light-fabric breezy clothes. Chop my hair or tie it. Stay under a huge shady tree til it becomes too humid to bear. Go to the beach.

If we have means, we go to a cooler place. It can get deadly HOT here in Texas :( Hugs to you and Miss Cindi Lou!

Sweet Tea please!

The only way I can stay cool is to stay inside because the answer to the second question is anything that involves being outside

Last week in Northern Indiana it was 94-96 degrees. Tuesday and Wednesday of this week it has gotten down to 45 at night and 61 for the high on Wednesday, it was raining this morning again but it did get up to 73 today. Staying cool has not been a problem:0)
However when I do need to stay cool I like to get in the pool with the grandkids and put peppermint water/oil on my feet. My favorite place, hmmmm, anyplace there is no work to do. And unsweetened or lightly sweetened with Stevia.

1)Wear light clothing, drink lots of water, eat watermelon, go to the pool for a swim, have a spritz handy.
2) It's almost like summer here in Malaysia the whole time. If it gets really hot we either go to the club for a swim or the malls to cool down.

It's hot and humid all year long here in Singapore and we get used to it by drinking lots of fluids to prevent dehydration.Cold icy drink is one of them.

Love your photo. It's hot here too, I've stayed in and usually in my studio which is in the basement of my home, you'd think I'd get more done. I love tea in any form, iced sweet or not. But strangely enough even if it's hot, I prefer my tea hot, no milk, just sugar (real sugar) I don't do sweet and low.

To keep cool, I do what the kids did, running through sprinkler. I like iced tea, or just anything with ice.

I wish I had that problem! I'm mostly cold here in England. However, I think leaving a window secure (but slightly open) can make a lot of difference.
Of course, I know that in hot parts of the US, that's probably not enough.

1. We really don't have "weather" here and it's almost always mild.
2. See number 1
3. I like my tea unsweetened.

Love the photo!

Love that deep red flower!

The only way to deal with the heat in Indiana (actually, the issue is more of humidity) is to stay inside where it is air conditioned.

My favorite place to be in the summertime is actually Arizona. I can deal with that dry heat a lot easier than I can deal with humidity in the Midwest.

Unsweetened tea please, with some artificial pink sweetener.
