Have a Rosy Day!

"This old world that we're livin' in
Is might hard to beat.
You get a thorn with every Rose
But - ain't the roses sweet?"

Frank Stanton

They are a little late in blooming this year but finally we are seeing roses. The first one is from my garden at home, I don't know the actual name but I call it my Peppermint rose.

The rest of the roses are from a small rose garden at one of our local parks. There are a lot of lavender colored roses this year, the lavender and pinks are so beautiful.

For more flowers please visit Macro Flowers Saturday, Flowers on Saturday and Today's Flowers. Also if you love color, and who doesn't, please stop by Color Connection and say hello to Ms. Burrito.

Quote It Saturday
is a really fun meme from Freda's Voice, won't you pop over and take a look?

Peppermint is a perfect name for your beautiful rose. Many years ago I had an ivy geranium that was called peppermint. I love anything red.

I agree the lavender rose is stunning....it almost looks velvety to the touch,
Happy Saturday to you all,
Madi and Mom

Your photos have such wonderful detail, including the busy bee. This is a nice assortment of colors, too. A deer came through our yard and nipped off all our rosebuds and tomato plants; I'm sure it was a darling little Bambie. :)

I love your 'peppermint rose'. Just remember, a rose by any other name would smell as sweet!

I am reminded of the quote...“The splendor of the rose and the whitness of the lily do not rob the little violet of it’s scent nor the daisy of its simple charm. If every tiny flower wanted to be a rose, spring would lose its lovliness.”

Your Roses are drop dead gorgeous! Coincidentally, I have posted a blog on Lilies :) hence thought of sharing the quote above.

Squee! I haven't looked at your blog in a while and I LOVE these photos! I also love the bee. :) I'm actually drawing a picture from memory of a bee I was watching on a Dandelion one day when I was in Jr High. :) Funny how those things tend to match up.

Beautiful shots!!! I especially like the last image -- so delicate, fine texture and detail. AND, your header pic is really eye-catching, almost surreal. I guess all the other squirrels enjoy having you as their queen -- grin
