Get Your News Here!

Hearts can be found anywhere and everywhere, visit Clytie's Guest Heart Thursday to see more hearts from around the world.

And it's almost Thursday and time for Thursday Two Questions.

Our evening newspaper was just delivered to our door, my husband likes to read it in the mornings. We both read a variety of newspapers online but still have a subscription to our local paper. If we discontinued the subscription the only thing I would miss would be the weekly ads and coupons from our local grocery stores. But then I also know I can go online and find both.

Now for my questions.
1) Do you subscribe to, or buy, a printed newspaper?

2) Do you think printed newspapers (or magazines for that matter) will be around for much longer? Would you miss them if they went away tomorrow?

A stunning header and pictures with a beautiful matching background. And I noticed the heart before I even read about it! Yes, we subscribe to The Washington Post and the local paper both. I would really miss reading it, but papers are cutting back all the time. The Post got rid of their book review section several years ago, and today I see that the mid week food section is missing. So I think it's just a matter of time...that will be a sad day.

Great photos! A great choice for your new header...
Hope you are having a good week!

We don't subscribe to our "big" newspaper, but we do get our local city news three times a week. I hate reading the paper, but my husband reads it from cover to cover. I also pick up a paper sometimes on the subway. I can imagine newspapers going away in the near future, my kids don't read it at all and after all they're the future.

It will break my heart if happens soon, but I can't see newspapers lasting much longer after the first wave of baby-boomers (that would be me and one of my brothers) are gone. My brother Clint and I spent our working lives in the printing and newspaper business.
My husband subscribed to the Medicine Hat News when we first moved to the MH area, but delivery was erratic and spelling errors were rapidly overtaking grammatical errors, or vice versa, so it was hardly worth the fuss and bother it took to phone and complain about the poor delivery.
So I've gone from loving newspapers to hating them, because they ain't what they used to be. I'm grateful to have worked with some grand old newspaper people, however.

lovely pansy hearts!

yes, we subscribe to the Dallas Morning News (for me as I enjoy reading it, the crosswords and use the coupons too). but since i've been knee-deep into blogging, the newspapers sit unread for a week or more at a time, then i burn thru them before they hit the recycle stack. so i cannot wait until our subscription runs out next month as i won't be renewing. i do still have 2 local bi-weekly papers coming and i'll keep those for local news.

Wow, what gorgeous heart pansies. I love those shots.

1. No, I've never subscribed. The only time I buy a paper is if a friend is being featured in it or something really newsworthy like the Giants winning the World Series.

2. I think newspapers will soon be a part of history. With all of the information being at the click of a button online, newspapers I think will soon be gone.

I don't subscribe or would I miss a daily newspaper. The local one here is useless and even though it only costs 75 cents, it's a waste of money. I don't think they will last much longer...

I do buy a printed newspaper every Sunday to get the coupons. We used to get the weekend subscription, but it was only for the Sunday paper. Now, we are just getting Sunday delivered.

I'm not sure if they will be around much longer; there are still people who prefer a hard copy to a words on a screen; it's a matter of supply and demand, I guess.

You always take the most delightful pics!!

I subscribe online as I cannot afford the hard copy. Our local paper gets smaller and smaller and costs more. :-)

I think papers are becoming less popular, along with mail.

I really have no need for a printed newspaper. Magazines are a bit different, since they are specialized and I do subscribe to a couple of them. I love the photography and I use them as ephemera!

I love getting the "Real" newspaper and read it back to front and then front to back. When I'm finished reading it it goes to the garden shed where it either gets shredded and added to the compost pile or more likely laid down as a ground cover and piled with mulch to create a new garden bed. I'll really miss the newspaper if and when it goes away :(

Unbelievable how you found those hearts. Artistic eyes that you have.

I have magazines still coming to the house. A lot of them, and never really have time to even scan through. I used to like the newspaper for the new homes section, but I don't subscribe to them.
It is a thought, I am not sure how long it will be around, there are still people who loves the ritual of picking up an actual paper.

stunning flowers!

1) i used to subscribe to a number of magazines and newspapers, now i'm down to one broadsheet. not because i need it, it's just a habit i think. while i can read the news on line, i also like the smell and texture of newspaper.:p

2) around here, i think it will be around much longer. not most people here have internet access. yes, i would miss reading the newspaper if they won't print it anymore.

Thank you for the beautiful flowers this morning.
1. We subscribe to our newspaper on Friday, Sat. and Sunday only.
When we were working we didn't have time to read it in the morning.
2. We used to have a city paperThe Raleigh Times. That publication ceased many years ago. I still miss that one. Our state paper is The News and Observer. I do really enjoy reading and touching a newspaper. I understand the paper is struggling probably due to online. I still like to touch my paper and my books.

Pretty pansy heart! We cancelled our newspaper a few weeks ago. I think it would be kind of sad if they went away completely.

1) We do not buy or subscribe to newspaper for years since the internet took over.

2) I think printed newspaper will become obsolete soon, and I wouldn't miss having them that much.

Your flowers are very petty.
1.I buy magazines sometimes but subscribe, not any more.
2.They will be around but I would not miss them.

these photos are completely stunning! the colors magnificent. a big WOW factor. i would not have seen the hearts if you did not mention them, for some reason i don't see hearts but do see them after you point it out. strange.
we stopped our subscription when i retired in 2006, i found i was not reading it and the paper just piled up ad had to be put out to recycle. i was reading headlines and obits and i can do that online. i like to scan headlines and read only what appeals to me and online is good for that. if i see something on CNN at bottom of screen i go google it and read the details. i get almost all my news off the www. i signed up for breaking news with our local paper and with another news source here. all day long i get emails with heads up.

You take such beautiful photos.

1. I do not subscribe to a newspaper but I do get free magazines and I like reading them. I prefer digital to have it's own time just as paper.

2. Yes I would miss print. Especially books.

Aloha!

I don't subscribe to a printed newspaper. The delivery around here isn't very good. I do think printed newspapers and magazines still have a long way to go because there is still a surprisingly large population who don't have internet.

I just love your pansy flowers.

I subscribe to a newspaper when we are settled for 5 months in AZ. I like to try my hand at the crossword puzzle and read the Living section.
