May Flowers

Then followed that beautiful season... Summer....
Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light;
and the landscape
Lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood.
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

I wish they could stay,
those flowers of May.

May is probably my favourite month for flowers. June would be a close second as that's when the roses and peonies will be in full bloom here.

I love the way macro shots enhance the flower capturing for memory the moment of appreciation, as yours do. As for the artichoke flower above, I gather it is edible, though I do wonder how such a plant produces an artichoke! Perhaps I am confusing it with something else.

Love them all. And a Quote I'll be back. Have a wonderful weekend.

Indian summer is almost bereft of flowers...The bougains, Portulaca's, sunflowers are the few which add floral colour to our gardens.
