I think these are American Goldfinches but if any of my birder friends can say for sure it would be appreciated.

Love your header photo. The flock of birds are so cute and I know how you feel about scaring them away by trying to get a better shot. It happens to me often. They look like they are having a meeting to discuss the world's problems.
J that is a great shot of the gold finches...I love those little birds!!! Currently they are eating their weight in thistle. I cannot get good ones of birds yet...but one of my first jobs as a retiree is to sit on my deck with my camera until I get a great birds picture. I'll see them from the kitchen window and quietly try to get out but the scurry.
Hugs Madi and Mom
the birds are sweet and cute but....OMG on the header. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT... yellow and orange ART. a real piece of art to me. did i say i LOVE it
Those goldfinch are all over my front porch! They never left for the winter and now they are back in even greater numbers than before. They now even outnumber the other birds. And they are cute! I also just love your new header.
This is the best East tree I've ever seen! Those little goldfinches aka eggs are adorably positioned in that tree! :)
Those are definitely Goldfinches! Even through a semi-dirty window you have captured them beautifully!
Thank you for participating!
Love those sweet little birds giving life to that tree. Whoooo! Love the header as well!
The photos are terrific. I wouldn't have known they were shot through a window if you hadn't mentioned it. I love yellow finches. Ours here have not changed into their summer yellow feathers yet. Yours are already sporting that pretty color.
A beautiful, colorful crowd.

Your windows must not be very dirty. If ya wanna see some dirty windows come on down to our house.
Great pictures.
Wow, what a gathering, they are adorable, nice captures! :)
I do believe Spring is upon us: I finally heard the call of the mourning doves several weeks ago, then saw them; the gold finches have visited .. I do think it is beginning. Have a sunny tomorrow! I think :)
Fantastic photos! They are so beautiful, and I don't see dirty window at all..
I'm glad to see you posting, how are the computer troubles coming?? Did you tell me and I forgot? Yes, these are goldfinches, and you were wise to do this, or else they would have flown off. A great catch!!!
A new species for me, our goldfinches here in the UK have a bright yellow stripe on their wings but when they're not flying their most obvious feature is a red patch on their faces. But, like yours, our goldfinches are usually seen in groups - traditionally called a charm of goldfinches - calling to each other all the time as they flit about.
wow..so many of them! What a sight to see, and beautiful photos!
I think they are definitely finches! That's as far as I'll commit lol.
Here in the UK and also in mainland Europe, goldfinches look slightly different, noticeably they have a red face. Great pics :)
I love your photos, header is beautiful!

A new header and beautiful finches. I missed visiting you! You always have such eye delights!
Great shot of the "Great Gold Finch Gathering" ♥♥♥♥♥
My dear Squirrel Queen, I apologise for no reply... I was in hiding.
I am back, recharged and doing well.
I can't believe I went so long without your beautifull photography! These birds are wonderfull - pure spring!
I missed you SQ... Your wonderfull images are one of the reasons I am back to blogosphere.
Very pretty little birds and a delight to see in numbers. They rather resemble our chaffinches(UK), apart from the yellow breasts.
I heard birds were singing yesterday. Made me smile;) Love your photos!
Those are cutie birdies! : ) What a lovely site to see and to share with us.
So cute and colorful finches!! It is so much fun when they come through in a flock! Hugs, Kerrie
