Little Signs of Spring - Macro Monday

These very tiny little white flowers were found today on the edge of my yard. They are so small I almost didn't see them. To give you an idea of the size, my lens was less than an inch from the blooms.

Feathers - Alphabe-Thursday "F"/Tell Me Thursday

The photo above might look familiar to some of you if you dropped by yesterday. If not you can look at the post below this one. The comments from yesterday's post had a request or two that I would like to answer. I had an invitation from Tell Me Thursday (about Wordless Wednesday) to share the story behind the photos. The photos were taken at our local aviary which has a wide variety of birds from around the world. When I arrived the first thing that caught my eye was this fellow. He was walking around with his head held high and strutting his stuff. Then he flew to the top of this perch and began to groom and pose. He put on quite a show which I did my best to capture in photos. Want to hear more stories about Wordless Wednesday posts? Visit Tell Me Thursday.

I also had a question from Strawberry Jam Anne. She asked if he had displayed his feathers.
Anne, he did indeed!

And I am also participating in Jenny Matlock's Alphabe-Thursday. The letter this week is "F" and "F" is for Feathers. Be sure to visit Alphabe-Thursday for more of the letter "F".

Mister Peacock was really showing off.

Red Tip Photinia - Macro Monday

In the springtime the new growth of the Red Tip Photinia makes a striking contrast to the deep green leaves of this evergreen shrub. In late spring there will be large clusters of small white flowers, it is a splendid sight. The Red Tip Photinia can grow to fifteen feet tall and eight feet wide. That is about the size of this one which is in my backyard.

The Last Leaf - Monochrome Weekend

The last leaf clinging to the branch, a reminder of days past. Soon it will be pushed aside by the buds of Spring to make way for new life.

Monochrome forces the eye to see beyond the mask of color, to see details otherwise overlooked. For more monochrome photos visit Aileni at Monochrome Weekend.

When Will it Bee Spring?

Reaching into my archives again for something sunny. This is one of my first bee photos from this past Spring. She is checking out the new blooms on my raspberry bushes and I fell in love with her lacy wings.
