Pinks and an Award

Hello All! My blog has been presented with an award from two blogging friends. Imagine if you could take a class in Happiness, you would of course want to start with the basics. Welcome to Happiness 101!

Aine at The Evolving Spirit, one of my new blogging friends, is a very talented writer. I really like the way Aine describes herself, "I am an evolving spirit who seeks to be in constant motion on an inner level of expansion sharing my journey."

She has recently added a new feature to her blog. On Wednesdays her post are about real life women who have inspired her and I think you their stories inspiring as well. This week's post is about Kubaba, a Sumerian queen. Aine has invited her readers to submit their stories to be featured as part of the series. Please take a few minutes and visit Aine, I think you will be most pleased that you did. Aine, thank you for presenting my blog with this lovely award.

There are two more blogging friends I would like for you to meet, sweet adorable Madi and her Mom. Madi, who is one of Miss Cindi Lou Who's kitty friends, has her own blog called Potpourri in NC.

Being a not so typical cat, Madi will share her thoughts and adventures with you. With the help of her trusted assistant (Madi's Mom) she will let you see life through a kitty's eyes. To give you an example, Madi's latest adventure shows her talents as a snoopologist. To get the 'scoop' on the 'snoop' go to Potpourri in NC and visit Madi and her Mom.

Madi and Mom, I want to say thank you for the Happy 101 Award. Miss Cindi Lou is asking if Madi can come over and play now?

This is the part where I should be handing out the award but most of you know by now that I have a hard time trying to narrow down a list. As far as I am concerned all of my blogging friends deserved to be awarded, it is just too hard to choose.

Country Lane at Twilight

Alice came to a fork in the road.
"Which road do I take?" she asked.

"Where do you want to go?" responded the Cheshire cat.
"I don't know," Alice answered.

"Then," said the cat, "it doesn't matter.

Hawk in Motion - Camera Critters

It was New Year's Eve and we had snow followed by freezing rain that afternoon. After the snow and before the rain I had walked out on the patio when I saw the hawk flying overhead.
He landed in the top of the tree, paused for a few seconds and continued his flight.

These are not the best of photos because for some reason I rarely see the hawks on bright sunny days. See that big evergreen tree, the hawk land on the top branches of that tree. My zoom lens was maxed out to get the shot. The top two photos have been slightly cropped to give you a better view.

The Last Frontier? - Monochrome Weekend

Reaching into the past, this photo was taken in the mid eighties during a weekend outing to Hatcher Pass, Alaska. The buildings are what's left of Independence Mine. The photo was made with a Pentax ME Super SLR. No digital in those days, this camera used film!

Wings of Summer - Camera Critters

A little side trip back in time to this past summer. I photographed a lot of small creatures including honey bees, butterflies and skippers, and dragonflies. Of all the dragonflies I saw this little fellow was my favorite. He posed for me for quite a while as I moved the camera lens closer and closer.

When he finally grew tired of posing he raised one leg as if to wave goodbye and flew away.

For All My Friends in Warm Climates

The video below is for all my blogging friends who never see snow fall, or anyone else who likes to watch the big flakes of white come tumbling down. This was filmed early in the afternoon on New Years' Eve. Later that afternoon the snow turned into freezing rain. What a way to end the year.

It's short, just click to play.

Meow, I Got an Award

Hi Everybody, Miss Cindi Lou Who here. I am so excited, my friend Madi gave me an award. I'm not really sure what that means but if it came from Madi it has to be good.

I wonder if it will taste fishy.

What's that mom? What do you mean I can't eat it?

Oh well, that's OK. I will put it in a special place so I can see it every day.

This is my friend Madi, she has her own blog called Potpourri in NC. She even has an assistant (Madi's Mom) who helps her write the blog. Be sure to go visit Madi, you will really like her blog.

Hey mom, does that mean you are my assistant?

Thank you Madi, I really like my award. Want to come over and play?

Miss Cindi's Mom here. I'm not going to give the award out today but maybe at a future time. You know I have trouble trying to decide who to chose. This award is very interesting because it can be traced back to it's beginning in October 2008. Visit Scholastic Scribe to read all about it. Also be sure to visit Madi and her Mom.
