Holiday Questions

Thursday! I love Thursdays because that means it time for Freda's ThisWay Thursday and Thursday Two-Questions. Twice the fun!

My questions for you this week:
1) Have you started your Christmas shopping? Or are you one of those folks who starts in July and is done already?

2) Do you like to shop in brick & mortar stores or do you prefer online shopping?

I went with online shopping this time, it's amazing, i'm almost done. Usually I'm that guy shopping on Christmas Eve, kickin ass this year thanks to amazon.

I just don't like shopping. I started Christmas shopping today. We also have a wedding just after Christmas so we have been clothes shopping too.
I keep waiting for the bird in your header to jump in the water.

Oh my those are some loaded questions....
1. in my mind's eye I have begun my shopping...LOL I have a purrfect picture of what I'm buying. Hubby and I already have our gift to each other...the Bose. When my daughter was young I started early because many of the toys were no longer available in Nov.
2. I order on line and also go to brick and mortar (love that).

Hugs C

since we are only 2 we do not do shopping and have not for the past 5 years. we don't give each other presents since we buy what we want when we want it. but as for the second question, i like brick and mortar, i order on line, but always after i see it in real life. i want to see what it looks like before i buy it

I will do anything to avoid the crowds and the temptation to buy things I don't really want or need. So I do my shopping on line. There is just me and Hubby, so we talk about it. I buy lots of little things and knit hats to give to people who don't reciprocate. I just like to give people things like that.

I mostly shop online.Great way to find the best deals and saving time:)
Sometimes, we miss brick and mortar. Then hubby and I enjoy going shopping together:)

I prefer to shop all year through. This way I can take advantage of bargains along the way, but by the time the end of November gets here then I'm always short a present or two. These are usually for my immediate family, husband or kiddos.

Shopping online is my preferred route, but I do like doing some light shopping in stores at the start of the Christmas shopping season, as this adds a bit festive fun to our celebrating spirits.

I have pretty much finished with my shopping for this year. I have some things to mail and also need to wrap things.. But--as far as shopping, it's mostly all done. BUT---we are not a 'big spending' at Christmas family... That's our choice --and I love it.

I ordered mostly ONLINE... I hate crowds and don't enjoy shopping... When I do shop at stores, I usually only do Walmart, Lowe's and/or Dollar General.

Hugs,
Betsy

Actually we don't do XMAS presents and that suits me just fine.

I hate shopping and I hate the hassle so my family agreed years ago, no presents.

Hubby and I get what we want thru the year, so on XMAS eve we fix all kinds of snacks and foods and that's how we celebrate XMAS.

1) I have not started my Christmas shopping yet

2) I prefer brick and mortar stores shopping since I see, smell, and feel the item in my hands..I'm old fashion!

Christmas? Is that coming up? Yikes!!

No. I haven't even started my shopping. Always last minute and always plenty under the tree. I like the brick and mortar experience best. Online is okay for books and hard to find items, but I like to touch and feel before I buy.

M.O.M. makes most of our gifts but we still like to visit the malls during this season to see all the people and visit with friends. It is such a wonderful atmosphere of the season,

Until five years ago, I used to start in summer and also have my cards and wrapping done by Halloween. Now I am not done shopping and only two things are wrapped. I don't even have cards yet!! I prefer a real store, where you don't have to pay shipping if you return it, but I shop online as well.

First of all, that photo is spectacular! So beautiful! :o)

1. I have got a WEE start on my Christmas shopping but for the most part, I'd have to say that no, I haven't really gotten a start on it yet. I hope to get some momentum going this weekend though!

2. It's all about the real stores for me; even though I am not a fan of shopping. If I were to order online I would HAVE to start in July so the dogsleds could get the stuff here by Christmas. ;o)

1. No I haven't started @ ALL...I am a lil procrastonator...if I see early deals I don't mind getting them but I don't want to wait all the way to Christmas...I'd rather they play or have it now! *smile*

2. I like a little bit of both...it depends on the situation and what it is that I am looking to get for ma babieZ. Online is a convience...but yet convience does come with a price (a pricy price) either way they BOTH come with pros and cons...
Stay Blessed..

I'm lucky that most of the people on my gift-giving list like books and shopping on line is easy!

Splendid Little Stars said...

Haven't seriously started yet. But if I find something during the year, I will get it. I prefer to shop online or make my gifts.
What about you?

Lui said...

1. I'm glad I'm one of those few people who are not constrained by gift-giving on Christmas. I love surprises even if its not Christmas!

2. I love both!

DawnTreader said...

I haven't got many people to buy presents for nowadays. I intend to order a few things online... Thanks for the reminder, I really should get that done asap ;) As for the stores, I try to avoid the last few days just before Christmas.

Self Sagacity said...

1) I buy early once in a blue moon thinking I would save them for Christmas, but they never make it to Christmas time.
I have not started my Christmas shopping this year yet, because I have some huge me list to take care of.
2) I love to do more shopping online, but often doubt myself. Somethings I know for sure about, I buy online, save on taxes. Others I have to touch and feel.

My shopping is all done. I love my new iMac.

Oh. Wait. You mean shopping for OTHER people. Haven't even started yet.

Shopping online can be so much more convenient but sometimes, you just want/need to SEE the items for real.

We gave up on shopping some years ago. The grandchildren are growing so quickly and their interests move along rapidly as well, so our gift to them is always monetary; they then can save the money or buy that which they like.

Our children know that if they make something for us, we would love to have it as a gift; otherwise, don't waste the money.

Shopping in general is partly online and some brick & mortar. Any thought of shopping during the holiday season is strictly out of the question. For us, it is being together that counts.

I have my grandkids gifts bought and done! We only have a few more gifts for the kids to get, which is usually gift cards...this year we bought both in person and on line!

All done! Hate crowds! And I do like online shopping, although use real stores too.

I used to work retail and shopped all year, now I don't seem to find the time, money or energy. lol I love giving and it makes me some what sad I cannot do it like I would like, so am making some gifts this year.

Pat Tillett said...

I prefer not to shop at all, but I still like "real" stores when I do.
I also like to get it done early. My wife, on the other hand, is a last minute person for most gifts...

When I am Rich said...

1) All the presents bought last week as some have to be sent abroad. I actually enjoyed it this year as I was able to go mid-week when the shops weren't too crowded and none of them had started playing that really annoying Christmas music!

2) Real shops every time, and the smaller independent shops where possible. I sometimes look online to see what's available and get ideas but I prefer to examine things before buying. It's difficult to judge size, colour and quality from photos on a website.
