Delightful Mess

One of the most glorious messes in the world is the mess created in the living room on Christmas day. Don't clean it up too quickly.
Andy Rooney

We had a great Christmas, our college student kid came down from Alaska for a visit. The feral furbabies are doing fine, Cindi Lou is still excited about all the boxes and I even had time to fix my computer. I'm still tweaking it but so far so good. The photos above were taken during a quiet moment after all the excitement of the day was done.

Today I am cleaning a little , but not too quickly. Soon the lights and tinsel will be put away for another year but I think we will enjoy them for a little longer.

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend. Please take a moment and visit Freda's Photo Time (this week's theme is Christmas Day Moment) and Macro Monday.

It looks like it was a very Merry Christmas, with lots of boxes for Cindi Lou, and lots of delightful Christmas detritus for you! Hugs and kisses for a fabulous new year!

Hi J we do so agree about the best mess being on Christmas morning!!!
As for the snow since records keeping began in Raleigh:
1. first snow over 6" ever in December in Raleigh
2. 4th time there has ever been snow in Raligh on Christmas.
We set way to many records.

When do we see more feral kitty pics? MOL Madi and Mom

PS I see I misspelled Raleigh. LOL
Today will only be 35 and we expect 30 mph wind gusts....I hope and pray no more pine limbs fall from the huge pine trees in the yard. During the storm we had 5 huge branches to fall. It will take several weeks to get rid of the debris

Love the header! I'm so glad you had a good Christmas! I was thinking about posting something about the Christmas mess and clean up, but haven't figured it out yet. But you say it very well, and have the perfect quote.

Glad your daughter got there for Christmas, Judy.. We had a fabulous Christmas except for the fact that my sons couldn't get here... Sigh!!!!

BUT--it was the first White Christmas we have had in many, many years.

Hugs,
Betsy

Those are very neat macros! I'm enjoying the world of macros but not very good at it. I was looking for that Andy Rooney quote to put on as my Facebook status. I really like it but posted something else I can't even remember now. :) Enjoy these last few days of 2010!

I am glad to hear that you had a nice Christmas. We are still picking up pieces of tinsel and finding glitter on things. It is worth the mess though to have the time to celebrate with family.

love the photos!
We had five kids and my wife always wanted to keep up with the wrapping paper storm when they opened gifts on Christmas Day. I always loved the huge piles of trash, it looked like fun to me!
I'm happy that you had a good Christmas! Here's to a happy new year as well...

Wrapping paper, stacked gifts, empty boxes... all that just adds up to evidence of a delightful time. So glad your son was able to come home for the holiday. Love your pics.
