It was just a few weeks ago that the Cosmos were in full bloom and the little bees were gathering the last of the pollen. View the world up close, visit Macro Monday for more photos.
beautiful. our bush is full of bees, they are not as pretty as these and are smaller. i stay far away from that humming bush. we had an 80 year old woman attacked by yellow jackets here last week, over 1000 stings. she died. we are having problems here with bees attacking people. that is why i stay away. one abandoned home has an 8 foot hive inside the walls and the bees are attacking the neighbors. Yikes now i have scared me to death. great shot
Wonderful bee pictures, so fuzzy and good eyes! I wanted to post my Cosmos a few days ago, and spent forever looking for the pictures, only to find out I'd already posted them last month!! Gosh, I need some kind of system!!
Fabulous colours, close-up and framing...yes, sadly summer is gone and these images can only remind us of what was and will be, but no longer is...presently!! I love the pink of the cosmos along with the vibrant yellow of the bee and the heart of the flower...makes me smile!! Thanks, Cat
Well----it is kinda sad to see the end of the Cosmos --and the yummy dinner for the bees.... They'll have to get through the winter --just like we will!!!!

Grew up in a small Georgia town with a desire to see some of the places I had read about and many I had not. I moved to Alaska and lived there for about ten years. My jobs took me to many parts of the state including Barrow, Nome, Kodiak Island and many more. I have also lived in California, Oregon and now Washington state.
Let this be the story of the journey so far.

That's so pretty...the color of the flower is such a 'hot pink'!!
My Macro is in a NUT SHELL
Beautiful memories of late summer. The bees remain busy until the last possible moment but they must be ready for a long winter sleep now.
I'd love an outfit in that color...with a hint of gold...and maybe a bumble bee pin!!
Lovely,
Hugs to you both,
Madi and Mom
Stunning shot n love the colors.

these are really nice shots ! you've caught the bee beautifully !
Isn't it funny how the inside of the flower has the exact same colors of the bee?
This flower is going out in a blaze of glory, that's for sure!

Wonder what the little critters do to ready themselves for the winter? Your photos are so cool. I love the brilliant colours.
