Caution! Nature at Work

Autumn is filled with beautiful colors to dazzle our eyes, we can't help but take photos of nature's artistic wonders. We sometimes get so caught up in the view through our lens that we lose track of what is happening around us.

So I want to take this opportunity to remind my photographer friends ..........

......... SAFETY FIRST! Take the photo first then check for traffic and cross the street! Resist the overwhelming urge to take a photo in the middle of that crosswalk. You can do this!

I wasn't in the middle, just the first lane. Really! And there weren't any cars. Unless you count the two that were stopped waiting for me to get this photo. I only heard one of them honk his horn.

Be sure to visit Freda for ThisWay/ThursWay and check out more photos.

Thursday also means it's time for Thursday Two Questions.

1) I received two new books this week that I will be reviewing soon on my blog. My question is what type of books do you like to read?

2) Do you own an electronic reader like the Kindle or Nook? Or do you prefer paper?

That was good advice...lol...

My favorite books are what I call English Murder Mysteries. Where you know the body is in the library but they don't describe the gory details.

I tried the Kindle for PC on my computer but it took up too much space. I guess I'm more tactile- I like to hold a book.

1) I like self-improvement books, and books about writing.

2) I like the feel of the book in my hands, and like flipping the pages.

Your photos are gorgeous as always, Judy!

Morning Ms. J and Miss Cindi Lou,
What lovely pictures....
Mom here:
1. I'll read anything that doesn't walk away from me.
2. No Kindles or Nooks for me. I love everything about books, book covers, the smell of books and holding books. One of my favorite activities is browsing books stores.
Madi here:
1. I read the newspaper through osmosis!!!
Hugs to you both
Madi and Mom

The Autumn colours look fantastic with the blue sky backdrop. I like autobiographies and I have never used an electronic reader. I like to read a book in bed.

Over the years, I've grown apart from reading novels due to my hectic schedule as a mom. I find life's simple reading pleasures these days to be found in magazine articles. However, I'm trying to resume reading lengthier materials.

No, I don't have either electronic readers. I do have Kindle on our PC, though, and when a book interests me, I look for it in e-book format. This takes up less space and money.

I like fiction, fantasy and sci-fi. That's almost all I read.

No, paperbacks. I'd end up breaking a gadget.

I know the feeling. I was at a very busy intersection the other day and crossed the street wanting to get a photo of the pyramid building and without thinking stood in the middle of the street until a cable car started towards me so I had to move :)

1. I love to read non fiction. Poetry, biographies, history, travel etc...

2. I don't have a kindle and don't think I'd want one. I like the feeling of a book in my hands while reading.

I read a bit of everything, and find it hard to pinpoint any favorite. Let's just settle on women's fiction with a literary bent. No I don't own an electronic reader yet. So far, prefer paper. But as they say, "Never say never."

That's a very pretty autumnal carpet you photographed, and of course the only cars around were the ones that were in YOUR way!

Books: I like a variety but find historical fiction a favorite. I'm looking forward to trying out an electronic book soon (at least I hope Santa will hear me!)

That is definitely a beautiful scene...fall colors are the best! And, I agree, people stand in some very precarious places to get THE shot! Be careful, out there!

do not even know what an electronic reader IS so i guess i don't have one. glad to know you were concerned with safety first, I am a big scaredy cat, so I am always safe, but i see others that are not. beautiful colors

Such lovely photos and good advice. I can't tell you how many times I had certain mishaps when I first got excited about photography and would suddenly see something I had to capture in my lens. Stepping backwards off a curb was one of them, ouch!

I like to read about successes, biographies, and famous people.

I don't have kindle, but I have one of the best phones right now...it is so amazing.

I read all sorts of books especially those given to me. But the one I love reading are mystery novels and art books.

No I don't have an e-reader yet. But because I don't buy books now for lack of space, I borrow and return to friends promptly. A kindle would be useful.

I love to read historical fiction, and I like paper books. 50 cents at a garage sale vs. how much? (I know, probably new books are cheaper, but I have so many old books I still haven't read I'm fine waiting).

Bwwwwaaaaa like the advice. Been there done that. hehe Worth holding that impatient driver up for, he should have enjoyed the view himself. lol

Lovely picture but do take care!
I love books generally, especially cook books and beautifully illustrated picture books. For stories, any book that grabs me at the first page. I am intrigued by electronic books and can see their place but prefer the paper kind.

I love your tree. And yes, I have nearly killed myself many times in a blinder-like effort to get a picture. All else fades away except the subject!! A good reminder to us ALL!

The fall colors are awesome. I've never lived anywhere that has a Fall.

Love spy and mystery novels. Don't have a Kindle but have been "looking" at them.

Gorgeous photos! There were some beautiful white puffy clouds yesterday and I snapped a couple shots of them, while driving! I made sure, though, there was no traffic anywhere near me.

Safety first and no trespassing! I may have broken both of those rules a few times.

Now that's some fall colour!!
I enjoy all sorts of books and in French or German as well. I prefer the more classic styles and I enjoy print rather than electronic. The glare bothers my eyes.

I thought I was the only one to do things like that.

I like mysteries, but since time has become nonexistence find myself reading only things to help me improve myself spiritually, emotionally or physically.

I read them. I find it much more convenient to use bookmarks and the index. I have no equipment to listen to books and my husband is hard of hearing so the television is playing rather loud. It would be hard to concentrate on anything auditory.

Thankfully they didn't run you over! The photo turned out great!

I love to read mysteries, thrillers and contemporary romance.

I love the feel of paper, but I'd try a Kindle.

I love reading children books, all types..and no e-book for me just yet..

1)I would really like to see some biographies or autobiographis. I also like historical non-fiction/fiction. I'd love to win something for my mother who needs large print.
2)I have not used a Kindle yet so I'm not sure.
Love your banner picture!
