Take Me Home ......

Country roads, there is something special about them. The air is cleaner, the grass seems greener and you can't help but feel good when driving through places like this. The road is in Eastern Oregon.

Check out the other photos at THISway/ThursWay.

PS, This was to be posted last night just after my Through Squirrel Eyes post but I lost my internet connection.

Oh how I love country roads! This could almost be New England except your mountains are quite a bit bigger!
I was fortunate enough to visit Oregon a few years ago, it's a beautiful state :)

Reminds me of John Denver's song..."Take Me Home Country Road." These are truly special places.

Country roads are the best...I just hate interstates now. Only use them when I am in a hurry. And sometimes even then the back roads are quicker.

This road is going home to the mountains. I somehow think John Denver would have loved it.

When we were kids, back in the day, money was tight and gas was cheap. Our family would pile into the car and go for "A Sunday Drive". Mum would lead us in a sing along, sis and I would do harmony, and even Dad and the brother would join in. We meandered along all the interesting country roads we could find. Sometimes we would do the tail-gate picnic thing. Sometimes we would look for a Christmas tree and stop where we could go toboganning. I will never forget those leisurely drives thru the country when we were too poor to go to the movies or the fair. Your post made me remember all that...thanks so much.

Country roads...there is nothing in the world like them. You are right, the air is cleaner and the grasses are greener...they are all such a pretty site and there is always another beautiful scene just around that corner up ahead! Gail

Hi J,
No even the ducks were smart enough to stay inside on that very chilly day...I believe it was just barely 40 degrees. I remember my teeth were chattering. LOL

Nothing quite like country roads in our opinion. Life is real there and there is much to see and enjoy.

We took a trip last fall to south central Oregon and the landscape was beautiful! Mountains, then lakes, open fields, spans of arid and desolate land .. breathtaking landscape. We just have to find it like you did. ;)
