I was looking through some photos from last summer and ran across this fellow. I haven't seen any grasshoppers like him so far this summer. He was really enjoying my Shasta Daisies.
There is a whole world waiting to be seen in macro. Visit Macro Monday for more photos.
How very intensely green. Glad they are not so prevalent this year. Yet. Love the way you managed the white in the petals, and I am getting an inferiority complex just looking at that pictorial raindrop in your header.
Oh my gosh, this is a great duo of closeups!! Excellent.
My Macro is Nautical And I also added a bit about a new meme I'm inviting everyone; if you'd like to join in on the challenge. Come over and find out what day on which it will take place....join me?
he wis beautiful, i know i should not say that, but your talent made him into a work of art. they are pest and do destroy, but the color is just gorgeous.
Morning Miss Cindi Lou and J, What a beautiful grasshopper. Such a nice shade of green and it is good to see an up close picture makes it easier to appreciate their beauty. Madi and Mom
You can take a picture of a grasshopper and make him look like he has personality. Maybe he was a personable grasshopper but I think it's your photos!!
Oh my goodness gracious!! I just never take your takent for granted. That eye, so grey and ovel. But how on earth did you do this, they jump when you get close!
You are very brave to get this close to him. I'd be afraid he'd hop on me. Then I'd have to scream like a banshee, probably throw my camera, and run like my pants were on fire. So BRAVO for this great shot! Love his bright green color and the sun's reflection in his eye.
Hi J, Thank you for your comment about my header....I'm learning with each photo but there is something about the NC mountains....there is never a bad picture of them. Madi and Mom
Recently I found a grasshopper on my son's back pack, it stayed in our yard for quite a while without us knowing, we had set it free...but apparently it didn't go very far. You've got this one on great macro shots!

Grew up in a small Georgia town with a desire to see some of the places I had read about and many I had not. I moved to Alaska and lived there for about ten years. My jobs took me to many parts of the state including Barrow, Nome, Kodiak Island and many more. I have also lived in California, Oregon and now Washington state.
Let this be the story of the journey so far.

We had a grasshopper stuck to our windshield the other day for about 20 minutes at 55 mph. That is awfully impressive!
