Fabulous pictures!! I especially like the Wood Duck...so much colour and the light seems to have thrown a rainbow on it!! Isn't nature a wonderful painter? Great job and thanks for sharing! Cat
Thank you for the beautiful duck pictures. Mom loves all kinds of feathered creatures...but of course not as much as me Madi!! MOL There is a duck decoy show downeast (coastal NC) every fall. She is always in awe of the beautiful life like carvings and colors. Needless to say 99% of the carved ducks are bought for home decor.
Madi and I thank you and Sandra for hosting the Silly Photo Challenge yesterday. We met lots of new friends. Purrs to Miss Cindi Lou M&M
I do believe the wood duck is one of my favorites for coloring, the iridescence! although I love them all. What is it that fascinates us so with wild life, that makes us stop to look and listen, to photograph...? Great photos. :)
Hi Judy..... Love seeing the three colorful and beautiful ducks... Thanks for sharing the names.. I recognize them---but sometimes cannot remember what the names are.... Hugs, Betsy
Wow!!LOVE that header! The ducks are outrageously beautiful! The wood duck has a red eye and an un-ducklike bill, it's curved and sharp! I didn't know there were ducks with bills like that.
My sister had wood ducks on her pond in Cayuga every summer. I think they are the MOST BEAUTIFUL of all the ducks out there! You sure did get a fabulous picture. Rosemary
Miss Cindi Lou..I made mom write 100 times 'a kitty's bowl should never be empty'. I'm confident she will do better in the future...if not, I'm coming to live with you. It sounds like your mom has her priorities in order. Madi
Another fabulous photo of your wood duck....I am so smitten by them and have never seen one in person..do you live by a pond or where are you getting these wonderful shots of ducks all the time?

Grew up in a small Georgia town with a desire to see some of the places I had read about and many I had not. I moved to Alaska and lived there for about ten years. My jobs took me to many parts of the state including Barrow, Nome, Kodiak Island and many more. I have also lived in California, Oregon and now Washington state.
Let this be the story of the journey so far.

Just love the colors on the back end of the first duck!!
Unlike other animals, ducks are pretty good at allowing you to get the good shots, no pun intended.
