Some of you have asked about my new header. The Wind Art is located on the campus of our local community college. While I was there this weekend for the Ducky Derby I grabbed a few photos.
This is a short video of the art in action. While I was filming a gust of wind really picked up the pace. There is also a bird chirping in the background.
the video rates a TEN in my book. love it. i could hear the wind pick up in your microphone. thanks for letting us know what the header is. beauty and movement. a giant fun windmill.
I was wondering about that myself. I love the look of this piece. I love all kinds of wind "art"...windchimes, windmills, whirlygigs, etc. Remember the wind sculpture in the movie "Twister"? I would love to have something like that.
I love funky yard art!!! That looks so cool. I keep trying to talk hubby into purchasing some interesting yard art ---may take some persuasion, as he a little bit country and I'm a little bit funky (hmmm, that sounds a little like Donny and Marie eh)
The twirling is making me dizzy! LOL. I can't believe how I can't even sit on the spinner with my daughter anymore as I get so sick and feel like I am going to pass-out. On the other note, the art is quite special.
Welcome along on the "Mitford" trip SQ. I shall be checking your blog for photography tips as you have some pretty amazing photographs. At present, I am an "accidental" photographer.
Thanks Judy for telling us what that gorgeous Wind Art is. I loved seeing the video. As much as I love windchimes, don't you think one of these art projects would look nice in my yard??????

Grew up in a small Georgia town with a desire to see some of the places I had read about and many I had not. I moved to Alaska and lived there for about ten years. My jobs took me to many parts of the state including Barrow, Nome, Kodiak Island and many more. I have also lived in California, Oregon and now Washington state.
Let this be the story of the journey so far.

What an unusual piece of art. Is it a windchaser like a dream chaser?
I wonder it it will work with cardboard?
came via Jama's site to say hi.
Those are beautiful whirligigs, Judy. I enjoyed the chirping birds and the spinning colors in your delightful video.
I wonder if they're made from recycled objects...very creative if it is!

I saw something like these at the Seattle Flower Show in February, and they were indeed made of recycled objects. Wonderful whimsy, too!
