Red Tip Photinia - Macro Monday

In the springtime the new growth of the Red Tip Photinia makes a striking contrast to the deep green leaves of this evergreen shrub. In late spring there will be large clusters of small white flowers, it is a splendid sight. The Red Tip Photinia can grow to fifteen feet tall and eight feet wide. That is about the size of this one which is in my backyard.

Please visit Macro Monday.

Super shots of the stages!
We had a row of these across our backyard at our old home. I loved how the tips glowed in the spring sun.

Mine’s here: Round The Bend.

That are gorgeous photos, Judy!

Spring seems so far still away for us, because we are under severe weather warning today! So far we have 2 inches of snow already. have a great day.

This is strange and interesting to me. I've never heard of or seen this plant. Hmm...wonder if they even grow around here. By the way, I was so enchanted with the daisies on your other blog that I saved the picture and am going to use it for wallpaper. It's bound to cheer me up whenever I see it!

Hi Judy and Miss Cindi Lou,
What a beautiful flower. I don't think I've ever seen one of those.
I imagine seeing a 15' would be amazing.
We had a beautiful weekend in Raleigh. 63 Sat and 65 Sunday. I went to a 'new age' baby shower on Sunday. Very odd only a handful of folks actually paid attention to the mom to be opening her gifts the rest were wandering about talking and socializing etc. There were some impressionable little girls there too...guess they'll never learn the proper way to act...I'm showing my age I'll shut up. The hostesses did a great job and it was a a very nice venue.

How was your weekend?

I think these are beautiful, Judy. And spring is definitely in the air. At first you were giving us pictures to remember from another season, but I think these are from now, aren't they?

I wonder if they belong to the birds of paradise family, the stalks are the same the ones we have in the garden. Lovely Judy.

The closeup makes this look to me like a bunch of alien claws. That's the kind of thing I find extremely interesting.

Beautiful macro shots Judy! It sounds like a great shrub that provides something in each season. I'll have to google if the white blossoms have a scent?

Did i ever thank you for sharing your unique view of your world with us?

Well, consider yourself thanked in abundance!
