I know a lot of people are protesting windmill farms being built in their area partly because they say it puts an ugly obstacle in the landscape, but I find there is something very beautiful and peaceful about seeing them. Perhaps it is the knowledge of what they are providing that makes me feel that way. Really nice photo and I agree with another commenter, it's nice to see some around.
THANKS for stopping by my blog. Man, you have lived in alot of different places and therefore have probably experienced many interesting things. I think those windmills are quite interesting and they are HUGE close up. We have some here in Alberta.
We drove through Little Rock today, there was a whole warehouse lot, acres and acres, of windmill parts. We don't have any close to us, the electric producing kind anyway, I can't say as how I would find them in the landscape but in CA and IL I find them starkly beautiful as these are. Judy could make a dust bunny look good though!! LOL
Hi Miss Cindi Lou and Judy, No worries drop by when you can....we're always glad to see you. We must work during the day to keep the internet up and running. :-) Madi and Mom
Our town approved a windmill over a year ago, still waiting, looking forward to seeing its silhouette out in the marsh, I've always though they look cool!
It is so good to be back! I look forward to catching up on your photos and stories!
I love the windmills,I have some pics I took of some on holidays. I found them absolutely fascinating. When you stand under them, they are so powerdul and they make this whoosh whoosh sound and sometimes you wonder if one might not fly off!

Grew up in a small Georgia town with a desire to see some of the places I had read about and many I had not. I moved to Alaska and lived there for about ten years. My jobs took me to many parts of the state including Barrow, Nome, Kodiak Island and many more. I have also lived in California, Oregon and now Washington state.
Let this be the story of the journey so far.

Love those different branches on the foreground. Beautiful shot, Judy!
I like the sky. It looks like a nice day, even if the sun isn't exactly shining. Nice clouds, excellent composition...
the photo says it all. In an online course i took several years ago, it said a photo should always tell a story. this one does.

" " in a wordless Wednesday.
Interesting view.

Good shot.
Nice wordless Wednesday photo. Yay renewable energy!
Cool, I like the photo.
I like how you framed this shot like we are looking through the trees to peer at the windmills.
By the title, I was expecting one of those cool, old, wooden windmills...so it was a surprise!
Man made arms and nature's arms!!
I love these - great shot.
Harnessing the wind= clever, Capturing it in a photo= priceless
They look so small compared to the tree in the foreground but they are huge when up close to them. Hooray for natural power.
Great shot!!! Love the framing!
I love these windmills. They are so lovely in such an austere way. Neat photo.
Good to see some windmills around.
Happy WW!!!

Nice shot. I want one of those for our farm. We do live in the land of the devil wind. That's what the natives called it.
Yep, no words needed!

You know if you look at that a certain way it seems like they're doing jumping jacks.
