Mushroom on Ice - Macro Monday

We don't have snow right now but for almost a week we have had freezing fog. That means little ice crystals on everything in the yard. The top of the mushroom has a little bit of ice and there is more on the back edge and lots on the ground.

For more views of our world up close visit Macro Monday.

Your macro view is fantastic. I love mushroom and the first test on my DSLR camera is on mushrooms.

Beautiful macro, Judy! I can't believe it's still in good shape even with the freezing temperature.

A beautiful little surprise in the cold.

It is still snowing on your site! No wonder it's freezing out there. :-)

Looks like our ice may soon be gone if the forecast of mid 40's is correct. It has made for some pretty photos like your mushroom, but snow or rain would be a preference.

We hope you had a wonderful Christmas and wish you a New Year filled with good health and much Joy! Thank you for allowing me to get to know you this year. Diana

Freezing fog? Interesting. I love the crystals it's leaving behind. :)

Neat mushroom on ice! That is something I'm not likly to see in my warm arid climate.

I love mushroom pics and this was a nice surprise! How can mushrooms grow in the winter? What an odd thing! I have to look high and low to find ones to snap. Yours is almost frilly around the edges. But maybe it's just shrinking from the cold.

we have had that freezing fog here too.
That is one stubborn little fungus! An interesting and intriguing photo, too!

That little mushroom is quite tolerant! I would imagine the freezing fog makes for some beautiful scenery.

Happy Monday =)

Hi Judy, Love the header!!!! I've heard from several bloggers about having Freezing Fog this year... Kinda weird, isn't it???? WELL--maybe not for your area, but definitely for some other places.

Beautiful picture of the icy mushroom.
Hugs,
Betsy

I like the mushroom picture. Freezing fog sounds interesting. I've never really thought about that before. I think that's something I need to watch for.

I took some similar shots about a month ago...isn't frost and ice on plants wonderful to macro?

That's an excellent macro and the colors are so real, the frost didn't change it.
Happy New Year!

Hi Judy...you are such a fine photographer your comments mean are very much appreciated. Thank you. All came through. I'm in awe of my SIL too. The very first thing he made me was the stable I use for my Nativity scene.
Madi did get turkey and she DOES love it!!!
But she thinks anything I'm eating is good HA!!
She is so spoiled but she carries if off well.

Lovely shot, Judy! That mushroom looks soft yet sturdy enough to hold the heavy snow. Love the snow flakes in here....sooo cool!

Judy, I second Icy. I am amazed at the sturdiness of the mushroom even with ice attached and freezing temps. Great pics. I love macro.
