and a lovely last rose it is. I see you are an early riser also. and as I read through the comments, I see most of your followers are up when we are. I get up at 4 every day, and go to bed early. which has nothing at all to do with your beautiful rose, just blabbling.

Grew up in a small Georgia town with a desire to see some of the places I had read about and many I had not. I moved to Alaska and lived there for about ten years. My jobs took me to many parts of the state including Barrow, Nome, Kodiak Island and many more. I have also lived in California, Oregon and now Washington state.
Let this be the story of the journey so far.

Oh...how sad but summer will come again, and flowers will be everywhere again. I can see my Mom's face whenever I see yellow roses. It's her favorite.

Beautiful. You've made me feel melancholic ...
Wow, Judy, I love the color and the light and shade on this beautiful rose!
What an apt quote and a beautiful photo. The light is excellent. She looks proud to be last.
That is a beautiful rose and picture.
What a lovely rose, beautiful color.

Wow. A magnificent rose.
Sandra, some people are on the other side of the planet and are night owls! Not me, but I do know some of these comments are from other countries.
The rose is lovely, but I realized in reading this quote that without the winter, we would forget to appreciate the summer, and the flowers.
They'll be back before you know it. Love the color.
Beautiful picture of your rose, Judy... The sun was shining on it just perfectly.... GREAT shot!
Hugs,
Betsy
Wonderful shot. Especially the way you can see the veins in the petals!!
indeed what a bloom
to end the joyous summer.
it leaves the soul longing and
warms the heart on freezing winter!!
May be the last, but full of golden glory...
Beautiful yellow rose, with the outer petals are curled up!
Awesome picture! I love the color!
So sad and touching ;-)
A lovely rose and very sad that the flowers are gone, but winter has it's own special beauty if we stop and take notice.
A gorgeous close up of a gorgeous rose. Love the veins running right through the petals.
The poem matches perfectly to the photo!
This rose is so sweet and dainty! I admire them for their resilience to cold weather. They bounce back more beautiful than before. :)
Now you have a beautiful memory of it until next Spring. What a lovely picture.
