Into the Depths - Macro Monday

I am intrigued by the flower of the thistle plant.

Intrigued by the texture, by the colors and by the way light plays on the the delicate strands.

Despite the dangers of the dagger like thorns, I must get closer.

So close the colors become brush strokes on the canvas that is my camera lens.

To get up close and personal with more photos visit Macro Monday.

Judy, the last photo almost looks like an abstract painting, shower of violet meteorites! Cool!

one thing i love about photography is that - the photographer can produce a painting in just a click. ;)

That last one is indeed an abstract painting. I'm glad you showed us by degrees what we are really looking at. I also love thistle flowers.

Looks to be Bull Thistle and gorgeous indeed, I love shooting wild flowers like this they have so much personality. Unfortunately or local area suffered a burn so unless there is some water we may not see wildflowers like this next year. Great work!

Excellent series. The close in shots seem almost electric and they do look like brush strokes. Very dynamic.

Oh my gosh!!!!!! This is beyond stupendous! You've turned a thistle into a painting! I have some thistle pictures for a future post and they are awful compared to these! You need to show in a gallery or something! I'm sure if you enlarged this and framed it, You could sell it for lots of money! How do you come up wuth these things? Did you ever work in the arts?

You're right - that last one looks just like brushwork! An abstract painting by Mother Nature! Nice. :)

Gorgeous thistles - nicely done. A plant that is often reviled but you've done a great job of showing its beauty.

Beautiful colors - it indeed looks like a painting. I remember pulling the thistle flower out and sucking the sweetness of the plant.
