I really like it in black and white. Funny how that changes your emotions. I think it makes you look at the flower differently, instead of your eye seeing color, it starts off with shadow and texture. Hum. Do I know what I am talking about? DF
I am surprised by how many of our roses are in bloom; in fact several of the shrub roses have had a new burst of energy... they seem a bit confused. Love your pumpkin shot! pies to come.

Grew up in a small Georgia town with a desire to see some of the places I had read about and many I had not. I moved to Alaska and lived there for about ten years. My jobs took me to many parts of the state including Barrow, Nome, Kodiak Island and many more. I have also lived in California, Oregon and now Washington state.
Let this be the story of the journey so far.

Still beautiful, a rose is as sweet by any color or is that how the saying goes? :-)
Beautiful rose, and the black and white is fantastic, Judy!
Nice quote. The rose is elegant even in black and white.

Nice .. not all flowers work well in monochrome, but the rose is one that always does ...
Looks beautiful in b/w - the shadows really emphasize the gentleness of the petals. Lovely!

Roses are indeed a perfect flower. I just had some fun with some small red roses. Your photo is stunning and the quote to accompany perfect.

It really is gorgeous! Wonderful photo!
I love color! Ask anyone. But a rose is so spectacular in structure that it doesn't need any color. It is beautiful.

A rose is a rose is a rose. And it is just as striking in b&w if not more. Nice capture especially with the one drop of dew.
