Perhaps, after all, our best thoughts come when we are alone. It is good to listen, not to voices but to the wind blowing, to the brook running cool over polished stones, to bees drowsy with the weight of pollen. If we attend to the music of the earth, we reach serenity. And then, in some unexplained way, we share it with others.

Wish our creek had some of those large rocks. But, I love ours anyway.

I could attain some serenity along that stream. Looks like a perfect spot to sit and think. I bet I could solve a million problems there.
Oh, SQ, I am transported to that creek right now!! I love, Love, LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!! Your photos are always appealing but today, that one just screams peace and tranquility! A beautiful way to start the weekend. Wish I had Dad's old fly rod and picnic hamper of goodies and Hubby and a lovely afternoon to wile away. *sigh*
Love that quote, Judy... It goes perfectly with your two pictures. Thanks for sharing.
Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy
Love the one of the river and the trees. Looks just the place for a picnic in the sun.
Lovely photos and quote. . .as usual!
Makes me want to stick my feet in the water.
Lovely photos as usual! As you will note, I have started a new blog,
as circumstances prevented me from continuing to post at the other website. On this new one, hope to report to one and all what happened!
Great pictures, and those words are the ones I live by.

You are so right, the sounds of nature are so calming. I live on a busy street and do not often get to tune out the noises of civilization. Sometimes a rain storm will block the noise of traffic and people listening to loud rap or arguing. It's one of the few times that people will just get quiet!
Judy, your photos are stunning, as usual. Thanks for the inspiration.
Gorgeous - nothing like the sound of water running over rocks. Perfect contemplation place. Beautiful photo. Beautiful quote. Again. As always.
