Men who for truth and honor's sake Stand fast and suffer long. Brave men who work while others sleep, Who dare while others fly... They build a nation's pillars deep And lift them to the sky.
Labor Day feels so different to me now that I'm retired. It used to be a day that signaled the end of summer, but now that I don't work in a job any more, it is possible to remember it just for itself. I am marking this day to honor all of us.
You picked a really good quote to mark Labor Day. We owe a lot to those who work long hard hours.
I think we forget too often that years ago there wasn't such a thing as labor laws or work place safety guides. We need to remember those who worked hard to get those things established as well.
Yes, Labor Day! I always find it so amazing that great structures can rise above the ground, such as these towers...especially back when tools were not had like today. And, we must honor those who create the tools too...Wow! Mankind is awesome when the work does not (intentionally) hurt others...
Great picture and quote as always. Labor day used to just mean an end to summer but now it actually means something to me.
I answered your question on Tresa's Blog and Animals That Give Pause. Basically if you are geeky @ all you will like wordpress. You have to do more of the search engine stuff yourself and get everything organized by yourself but I think it's worth it to have creative license?
A good quote, as always. I like the picture too. I find myself looking off into the distance down the power lines. There's kind of a beautiful symmetry there.

Grew up in a small Georgia town with a desire to see some of the places I had read about and many I had not. I moved to Alaska and lived there for about ten years. My jobs took me to many parts of the state including Barrow, Nome, Kodiak Island and many more. I have also lived in California, Oregon and now Washington state.
Let this be the story of the journey so far.
