Weave Your Thoughts Together

We don't accomplish anything in this world alone ... and whatever happens is the result of the whole tapestry of one's life and all the weavings of individual threads from one to another that creates something.

The two quilts shown in the photo are nothing special as far as quilts go, there are far more elaborate designs and materials available. They are special to me because they were made by my grandmother.

Aww Grandmother's do well in quilting, my grandmother can do embroidery well, why can't I?

I remember the song "Tapestry".

The sentimental value of things! I wish I had some things from my grandma. I never knew her. I hear wonderful stories though. The quilts are beautiful. I love seeing hand made quilts like that. Have a great day!

That sounds pretty special to me! I just put a homemade quilt on my bed last night. (Thanks to the stupid cat, gotta wash the summery spread. She's bolemic!) My quilt was made by my daughter's paternal grandparents. It is a work of art.

The quote works well with the quilt. It's Q day!

The quotation is so apt. Not only can quilt designs be elaborate, they are also historically known to include coded messages within the design. Whether they do or they don't, this quilt is a beauty and the making of it is a lovely message to you from your grandmother.

Your grandma had good taste, I do have quilts made by my grandmothers too. I always say I collect quilts but mostly they are the ones my grandmas made and my mother.
Wonderful quote BTW, everyday you seem to find one that fits into my life. I was reminded of how interwoven everything is yesterday when the family unit came together to go OH MY about me! :-)
Beautiful Quilts BTW.

Those sentimental objects even when ripped or torn can be the most valuable and dearest.

The quote is so true. I understand about having something around you that one of your beloved family members made or wore. You cannot look at it that you don't have sweet memories.

The quilt is beautiful. I'm always in awe when I think of the hours spent making it.

How beautiful, thank you for sharing that. I love quilts, I took a class a few years ago and never had the patience to keep up. That is a wonderful thing to cherish.

Love these quilts. You're very lucky to have them. My mother and I bought several quilts when they lived in Portland, because we were so taken with them.
