Christine, She has always been one of my idols, such an incredible woman.
Rae*, Me too, I practically live in sunglasses.
Nita, Go for it, keeps the rest of the world on their toes. It feels good.
Lynn, I just came from your blog, you have a pretty good view of the world down that way. The Helen Keller quote just seemed to fit that mountain view.
Small Footprints, It just looked like a great way to start the day.
Madame Defarge, The photo is of the Alaskan Range. My husband and I were trying to remember where those little houses were, I think around Girdwood at the Portage Glacier turnoff. SQ
Jenn, It's a good thought to hold while walking in the park.
AlpHa B., Umm, I don't recommend that.
TC, Helen Keller was such a fascinating woman, so full of life even with the challenges she faced. Of course I don't think she considered any of it a challenge.

Grew up in a small Georgia town with a desire to see some of the places I had read about and many I had not. I moved to Alaska and lived there for about ten years. My jobs took me to many parts of the state including Barrow, Nome, Kodiak Island and many more. I have also lived in California, Oregon and now Washington state.
Let this be the story of the journey so far.

Good one SQ. You always find the winners.
Helen Keller has always been an inspiration. Loved her perspective.
I usually do look the world in the eye but sometimes I put on sunglasses.
I haven't looked the world in the eye for a very long time...I think it's about time I start or at least try
Rae, like you, I look the world in the eye, but instead of sunglasses, I sometimes cover my eyes then peek through my fingers. lol
I love the Helen Keller quote; what an inspiration with which to start the day! And the photo, my heart sings whenever I see mountains.
Oh nice! And the photo is fabulous as well!
Thank you for sharing!

Nice photo and a great quote...something to think about on my next walk through the park.
Thanks, Jenn.
Does that mean staring at the Sun? LoL :))
Great quote, I'm not sure I look it in the eye like I should but will try. Helen Keller has always fascinated me.
