So love that tree on the top of your post! The other photo is good too, but I always find that old, thick, gnarled trees convey a certain majesty that young trees don't.
Ditto to Afternoon Tea's sentiments and I agree with Jan's statement. When life is tedious, take a few minutes to walk around outside; the beauty of this world renews the soul.
"Nothing is perfect and everything is perfect." - Isn't that beautiful. This quote really aligns itself with Taoist philosophies of non-judgement and acceptance of nature and reality.
Hi Squirrel So "Beautiful" I so enjoy your love of nature and all the beautiful places you share! Thanks for your visit Squirrel I'll be back to visit soon. Love ya
I would have to agree with Rae 100%. What has a tree seen in its lifetime? How many people walked by a tree and never even looked at it?
While I wouldn't call myself a tree hugger... then again...I just looked at what I'm wearing... yep I'm still a hippie chick, so therefore, I would call myself one. :-)
PS I had to copy your NeoPlanet. How dang cool is that?!?!
I also love imperfect trees, they are so much like humans. I've found the ones that have the least outward imperfections have the most inward ones, humans that is.
You take these pictures with finepix? OMG, they are absolutely gorgeous! Especially this one with the tree! What setting are you using to take pictures outside? Very nice!
Hi All, Thank you for the comments. The trees in this park are a little different. Actually the first photo and the last photo are the same tree. I move back and around a little. Thanks again for coming and commenting. Love you all, SQ

Grew up in a small Georgia town with a desire to see some of the places I had read about and many I had not. I moved to Alaska and lived there for about ten years. My jobs took me to many parts of the state including Barrow, Nome, Kodiak Island and many more. I have also lived in California, Oregon and now Washington state.
Let this be the story of the journey so far.

Indeed, a perfect thought. :)
This really proves that God is the perfect Creator :)

If only we could see people in the same way but we judge them by the way they look love your post.
I find trees in nature to be fascinating especially the different looking ones. Great photos! Jenn
Couldn't agree more. I've never seen an ugly tree - and I love taking photos of them too!
I love all trees, but the one in your first picture is truly beautiful and perfect in its imperfections. Such are we.
Sandra
I like to imagine all that a tree has witnessed during the time it has stood rooted. I would love to know what the old gnarled tree would have to say.

I love twisted old trees, but that first shot reminds me of the mean old trees that threw the apples at Dorothy!
