Wish I could climb a mountain - or just see one from where I live. Unfortunately I am surrounded by flat fields stretching to the horizon. But your lovely photo lifted me up! Thank you.
When I am Rich, I too love the mountains, it just lifts the spirits to even see them. But then the sight of fields of green have a special charm also.
Hi Steven, It's the best way to relax and get back to nature, a good camping trip frees the soul. I'm getting behind on your stories but I plan to catch up tonight.
Madam Defarge, John Muir is one of may favorites and when I stumbled across this quote I couldn't resist. All this talk of mountains and I'm ready to get away for a few days.
Mawinz, Thank you and welcome. I just signed up to follow your blog, it looks very interesting and I can't wait to read more.
Jane, I'm on my way, hope I'm not too late for tea and biscuits.

Grew up in a small Georgia town with a desire to see some of the places I had read about and many I had not. I moved to Alaska and lived there for about ten years. My jobs took me to many parts of the state including Barrow, Nome, Kodiak Island and many more. I have also lived in California, Oregon and now Washington state.
Let this be the story of the journey so far.

You are making me long for the mountains. Sigh. I need to go camping again, it's been too long.
I always liked John Muir, so appreciated this post enormously. I tend to get a bit puffed going up mountains, but it's always worthwhile.
I love your blog-I'm new to all this and can't believe the things I have seen so far- but yours is truly one of the best- beautiful pics and thoughts.
